LOS ANGELES, CA -- Vision Films, a worldwide distributor of independent feature films and feature length documentaries, recently signed a deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to distribute their new feature film releases across home entertainment platforms in the United States and Canada.

Vision Films
Lise Romanoff, Managing Director/CEO of Vision Films states, “We are so pleased to be joining the SPHE family who has a proven track-record of success in the U.S. and Canadian home entertainment market. Our distribution agreement will be instrumental in the growth of our home entertainment division, further ensuring our role as one of the premier providers of independent films in the marketplace.”

Vision’s current release slate includes many timely and relevant feature films. As the US historic presidential race continues to heat up, Vision Films is releasing the absorbing political satire, The Congressman, exclusively in RedBox on August 9th. Directed by Jared Martin and former Congressman Robert Mrazek, and featuring an A-list cast Treat Williams (Everwood), George Hamilton (Godfather III), Elizabeth Marvel (True Grit) and Ryan Merriman (Final Destination 3), the film deals with ongoing political themes such as sabotage, media manipulation and patriotism.

The thriller Desiree, based on the best-selling cult novel Dermaphoria by Craig Clevenger, is set to be released September 27th and centers on a chemist caught in a cat-and-mouse game after creating a recreational drug that the syndicate desires.Starring many Hollywood heavy hitters including Ron Perlman (Hellboy) and Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight), the film is being described as “Memento” meets “Breaking Bad”.

From executive producer Mel Brooks comes his son Nicholas Brooks’ directorial debut, Sam. Sam is a hilarious comedy about a womanizer who must learn how to value women by mysteriously becoming one himself. Starring Natalie Knepp (The Night Before), Sean Kleier (The Intern), Morgan Fairchild (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2)and Stacy Keach (Nebraska), the film will be available in October across all DVD and VOD platforms.

The Standoff follows eight teens competing to win a new car with an all-star Disney Channel and Nickelodeon cast.Starring Olivia Holt (I Didn’t Do It), who is currently featured as Hollywood’s new rising star, Ryan McCartan (The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Liv and Maddie), Alex Wolf (My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2), McKaley Miller (Scream Queens) and YouTube sensations Vanessa & Veronica Merrill (Jane the Virgin).

For Halloween comes an unusual family adventure,The Hybrid Family. As if being a regular teenager isn’t hard enough, two young siblings are the first part vampire-part witch hybrids! Starring Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Carolyn Hennesy (General Hospital), Mojean Aria (The Bronx Bull), Leanne Agmon (Blue Bloods), amd helmed by Tony Randel. Another uplifting family film,Nessie & Me, which stars Michael Pare (Eddie and the Cruisers) and Toni Hudson (Places in the Heart),gives viewers a hero that is not a dog or a horse, but instead a very misunderstood sea monster.

Just in time for the holidays, Vision Films is releasing two great Christmas stories. A Doggone Christmas, directed by Jim Wynorski, stars Dominique Swain, Rib Hillis, Lauren Parkinson and introduces YouTube sensation “Just Jesse” the Jack Russell Terrier (17 million fans) as the film’s talented 4-legged star. A Miracle On Christmas Lake is the perfect inspirational story about loss and regaining hope just in time for the holidays, starring Siobhan Williams (Forsaken, Flicka), Will Sasso (Three Stooges, MADtv) and directed by John Kissack. This film has been described as a teenage “Field of Dreams” on ice.

When asked about the future of the Vision Films’ DVD and VOD label, Romanoff stated, “Vision Films has an eye towards acquiring top-notch independent feature films that entertainand inspire audiences.Good old fashioned feel-good movies will never go out of style.”
