A new film is focusing on the amazing scenery of the Ozarks and the extreme horseback riding it takes to get to some hidden sights. But this film is about more than just horseback riding and nature. The men who created this film were inspired by tradition.

Exploring the Ozarks runs deep in their blood, and they say, they wanted to keep their love for the area and its rich history alive. The men of FCR pictures grew up in the Ozarks, and they grew up on horseback.

"I've been riding, probably, ever since I've been walking," says Luther Fiveash, of FCR Pictures.

"I can be stressed, have worries, and I can get on the back of this horse and we can take off to some of these places we go and see some of the scenery we see, and you just relax, and it seems like God just takes away everything," says Shaunie Reddell, of FCR Pictures.

Luther says his father showed him places deep in the Ozark mountains, beyond the trails, where his ancestors used to ride. He's spent years riding there with family and friends, and it's that special relationship with nature and horses that these men decided they too wanted to pass on.

"There's just amazing scenery; we just wanted to make sure that everybody got a chance to see what we're seeing," says Lee Campbell, of FCR Pictures.

"I've got granddaughters, and they love to ride, and of course they do too, and we're hoping to just pass it on and just let it carry right on through," says Shaunie.

Lee, Luther, Shaunie and Gary decided to film their rides, and while they're expert horsemen, they needed to learn about film-making. "Learning the actual filming process and editing, learning how to become a production company, get the DVDs produced and advertised; it was a long way from the conception of the idea to actually producing the products," says Lee.

These men also searched for the perfect spots to film, and Luther led the way. "I went to places that I hadn't been in probably 30 years... watching them see stuff that I'd seen when I was a kid, you know what I mean, bringing back good memories, you know," says Luther. "Not everybody knows where these locations are at; they don't know how to get to some of these locations, and some of them you can only get there on horseback," says Lee.

In the video each one of these men shares the history and beauty of the places they ride. They love this land so much, they say, they hope others will get a chance to see and treasure it's beauty.

"We would really like to see young kids get involved in the outdoors, especially on the back of a horse," says Lee. The finished product is called, Extreme Horseback Riding in the Ozarks, and you can catch a sneak peak of it and get your hands on the new DVD on FCR's web site.

The film also features some original music that Shaunie and Lee's oldest son Chase wrote especially for the film. Story by Erin Israel.
