Interview

I knew I wanted to be a screenwriter.......

l when I discovered my love for being both behind and in front of the camera.

I know I've succeeded.......

when I can sit back after reading my first script and smile, Personal success.

My inspiration to write PLEDGE.......

came from my admiration of films that push the boundaries to bring attention to what is wrong in the world.

Chloe Harvey: The opportunity to see my personal ideas come to life and one day hopefully to screen.

FilmMakers Magazine: How did you prepare yourself to write?

Chloe Harvey: I read and read and read, I spoke to other writers both professional and amateur. I also read blogs, watched seminars and asked many questions.

Chloe Harvey: This is my very first script and from idea to final draft the process was about 3 years.

FilmMakers Magazine: Do you have a set routine, place and time management for writing?

Chloe Harvey: I really just grab my laptop, find a quiet place, brainstorm and write as i think.

FilmMakers Magazine: Do you believe screenplay contests are important for aspiring screenwriters and why?

Chloe Harvey: Absolutely, exposure is so important and its gives you the chance to learn from your mistakes and even your success.

FilmMakers Magazine:
What influenced you to enter the American Gem Short Script Competition?

Chloe Harvey: I am so proud of Pledge and I want to give it as much exposure as i possibly can. So i searched the internet for screenplay and writing competitions, did a little bit of research and chose the the competition that stood out the most to me, that being American Gem.

FilmMakers Magazine: What script would you urge aspiring writers to read and why?

Chloe Harvey: I would urge aspiring writes to read my script so they can see first hand that it is possible to pass that huge hurdle of writing your first script.
