WSC Short Script Contest

Award: A Cash Prize will be awarded to the 1st place winner, and a list of the top three winners will be distributed to movie executives in the film industry.
Other Awards/Prizes: 
  • Screenplay must be 75-120 pages long (estimate one minute per page)
  • Screenplays must adhere to industry standards for format.
  • Deadline is December 15th each year.
  • Entries must be postmarked by the deadline
To help promote amateur writers into the film industry in this semi-annual contest.
Notification Date:  June 2006
Eligibility: Only amateurs are eligible: those having not earned more than $5,000 for their writing.
Rules: 
  • Screenplay must be 75-120 pages long (estimate one minute per page)
  • Screenplays must adhere to industry standards for format.
  • Deadline is December 15th each year.
  • Entries must be postmarked by the deadline
  • Your name and personal information can NOT be on the screenplay.
  • Please enclose a separate cover sheet with:
    - Title
    - Genre
    - Logline
    - Your name
    - Contact information
  • A non-refundable entry fee check for $45 made payable to Western States College
  • For an additional $40 you can get a professional analysis of your screenplay.
  • Screenplays will not be returned.
  • All submissions must be original screenplays (no adaptations) written in the English language.
