Other Awards/Prizes: Winner will receive four nights accommodations and VIP all-access badge for the 2007 Waterfront Film Festival in Saugatuck, Michigan. A party on their behalf will be hosted by the Writers Guild of America during the festival. Winner will also meet with an agent or manager and producers during the festival. In addition, only if both sides are in agreement, the script could be produced as a low budget independent film by the Waterfront Film Collective.
In celebration and support of the December 2006 passing of the new Michigan Motion Picture Incentives legislation, the Waterfront Screenplay Competition is going Indie! In association with the Waterfront Film Collective, WGA Independent, & SAG INDIE, the Waterfront Indie Screenplay Competition is seeking screenplays that can be produced for under 5 million dollars, and that can be SHOT IN MICHIGAN.
Notification Date:  Mid May
Eligibility: Open to all writers, professional and WGA members included.
