Award: Intensive 7 week program to support Screenwriters. Sponsored by WGA.
Other Awards/Prizes: In this seven-week program, participants meet two nights each week to discuss their scripts and meet with industry professionals. 
IFPis a not-for-profit service organization dedicated to providing resources, information and avenues of communication for its members: independent filmmakers, industry professionals and independent film enthusiasts. 

Now in its fourth year, the IFP/LA Screenwriters Lab is sponsored by the Writers Guild of America, west. The lab is designed to help screenwriters working in independent film to improve their craft and develop their voice as writers.

Each lab participant also has one-on-one meetings with two lab advisors, who read and provide notes on the participantsí
scripts. Past instructors include Mardik Martin, Howard Suber, Barbara Turner, and Lee David Zlotoff.

Notification Date:  End of May 2005
Eligibility: The Filmmaker Labs are open to all filmmakers, regardless of their educational background or previous accomplishments in film. All participants in the labs must be current IFP/LA members (non-members may apply, but must join in order to participate).
