In addition to all the usual stuff that most contests offer: cash awards, free software, industry exposure, etc., WE'RE LOOKING FOR A FILM TO TAKE STRAIGHT INTO PRODUCTION! Dreaming Dog Entertainment is nearing completion on its first feature, "Zen Noir", and is looking for just the right script for its follow-up project. While the cash prizes above will be awarded no matter what, if the right script shows up, then we want to produce it!

Eligibility: Contestants must be over 18.
Rules:  
Screenplay Guidelines
  1. Screenplays must be written in English.
  2. Screenplays must use industry-standard formatting (2 brads, white paper, single sided, etc).
  3. Screenplays must be between 80 and 130 pages long.
  4. Screenplays must be original works (WGA registration strongly suggested).
  5. Screenplays must be firmly bound, with a cover page that states the title of the work, the author's name(s) and contact information. Card stock covers are preferred.
  6. If the script is co-authored, each author must listed on the entry/release form and title page of script. Materials will not be returned. 

 

Entry Guidelines

  1. Entries MUST include completed and signed entry form and entry fee.
  2. No new drafts will be accepted after we receive your entry.
  3. Application fee is non-transferable and non-refundable.
  4. If entering more than one script, each entry must include a separate entry/release form and entry fee.
  5. Screenplays must be previously unproduced or sold, and not under option during the time of the contest. Should a screenplay be picked up for option during the period of the contest, entrants must notify Dreaming Dog immediately if script has been optioned by any other company prior to one (1) month before contest deadline.
  6. If a winning script is co-authored, monetary awards will be divided evenly among the writers
  7. Winners will be contacted by e-mail or phone on or prior to the end of the contest date and announced on our website.



Mailing Guidelines

  1. Submissions must be postmarked by October 15, 2003.
  2. We are not responsible for lost or damaged screenplays.
  3. For confirmation that your script was received, please include a stamped, self-addressed postcard or envelope.
  4. Mail the Script, Entry Form and Check or Money Order to:
