Finalists Announced for 
Applause Screenwriting Competition

Semifinalists and finalists have been chosen for the 2002 Applause Screenwriting Competition. Industry professionals Lew Hunter, James Dalessandro, Linda Voorhees, Bill Martell, Jim McDonald, and Stephanie Moore will select the winning scripts. Winners will be announced July 31, 2003. 

Contest winners will receive valuable exposure and product prizes, have their script submitted to a movie production company, literary agency, or film studio, and $1000, $500, or $250 cash. The early submission deadline for the next contest ($50 entry fee) is July 31, 2003. The late submission deadline ($55 entry fee) is September 30, 2003. See their website for details.

Ellen Tarlin for Not in this Lifetime

Three scripts are also in contention for the special Gold Country/Lake Tahoe Regional Award. This $1000 prize is offered by the Sacramento, Placer, or El Dorado county film commissions for a script that can be shot 75% or more in those counties.
