Final Screening of film
"Harvest" at Fort Lauderdale Int'l Film Festival
|
Seven-year-old Sirena Mazzone and
nine-year-old Jake
Mazzone, are attending the
Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and have been singled out by
Gregory Von Hausch, Director of the festival as being the youngest stars
present. The child actors, Sirena and Jake Mazzone, appear in a short film
titled "Harvest," vying for an award this week. |
|
|
|
Posters of "Harvest" (that
have Sirena's photo on them) have been plastered at movie theaters around Fort Lauderdale. Tom Madden, their grandfather, author of "Spin Man" and
former VP of NBC-TV hired a stretch limo to take Jake, 9, & Sirena, 7, to the
film's world premiere at Cinema Paridiso in Fort Lauderdale. |
|
He had them presented with flowers upon
a lighting from the limo. Then a small group of
"fans" showed up on cue cheering and asking for autographs as
Transmedia's photographer snapped pictures.
"We had them practicing signing
autographs in New York before jetting into Palm Beach," Madden said. This
week airplane banners began flying over Fort Lauderdale wishing "Jake & Sirena Good Luck in 'Harvest" and Transmedia (Tom Madden's
Public Relations firm) issued a news release on PR Newswire announcing that
two of the film festival's youngest actors were practicing to deliver the
shortest acceptance speech in motion picture history if the film in which
they were starring was fortunate enough to win an award.
They both will race up to the stage at the Black-tie Awards Gala on Friday, Nov. 10, where
Transmedia has bought a $1,500 table, and simply say "Thanks Mom!" (Grandpa
Spin wrote the speech himself) and they'll take off with their wished-for
award.

|
"If you're going to be a movie star, you should start to feel what
it's like," said Madden, who with his promotion-minded daughter, plan to
promote the budding movie stars at other film festivals, including the Cannes
Film Festival, where the Maddens have already made reservations. |
