3 Minute Movie Contest Has Big Payoff For Up and Coming Filmmakers

Columbus, OH --- The Palestra, an innovative web and wireless community that creates and delivers broadcast quality sports, music, fashion and entertainment content, all from a specifically college campus point of view, announces its first 3 Minute Movie Contest. First prize is $5000!

Aspiring filmmakers, over the age of 18, and looking for ways to showcase their cinematic creativity, are invited to enter the 3 Minute Movie Contest. They simply submit a 1-3 minute video short (created using a webcam, video camera, camcorder, cellular phone, or other digital device.) In addition to the $5000 first prize, second prize is $1500 and third prize is $500.

Joe Weasel, Co-Founder and Managing Editor of ThePalestra.com says, “We are so thrilled to offer this contest to young filmmakers out there. There is so much creative energy among our viewers and we want to tap into that energy and find the next Tarantino or Mendes! This is a perfect way to stoke those flames. We are hoping for this to be an annual event and that it will serve to encourage new filmmakers to keep at it!”
