Call For Submissions Of Film

PLYMOUTH, MA - The Plymouth Independent Film Festival (PiFF '05) continues to invite local, national and international filmmakers to submit their films for possible screening during July, 2005.

Between July 21st and July 24th this summer twenty feature films, documentary and fiction as well as short films and animation will be chosen for screenings at various locations in historic downtown Plymouth. All genres will be considered including cultural diversity and the environment.

The Festival accepts works in progress. Foreign language films without subtitles will be eligible to be screened as works in progress.

Opportunities to network with other filmmakers and to study the filmmaking process, will be available during the four day festival through discussion groups, panels followed by Q&A sessions and workshops.

Gary King, who has an extensive background in creating special effects for movies such as A Civil Action, Logan's Run, The Towering Inferno, Aliens - The Resurrection and Patriot Games and television shows such as M*A*S*H, Charlie's Angels, Tracey Takes On as well as music videos for Janet Jackson and Duran Duran, will offer a workshop on Special Effects.

Nora Hassan is an actress and graduate of Emerson College. Nora's latest movie is a re-make of The Longest Yard, due out in theatres this May. She will offer the workshop on Acting In Front of The Camera.

James Koonce graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in television and film, then relocated ot Los Angeles where he began his career with Diane English's company as her assistant helping to develop television comedies. He developed and wrote a half-hour comedy pilot for Fox Family Channel and was a staff writer on the Fox comedy, Living in Captivity. James will offer two workshops, The Art of the Pitch and Writing for Film.
