Winners to be showcased during 4th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas

The Asian Film Festival of Dallas is now accepting short film and video entries for its 4th Annual Short Film Competition, to be held on May 28-29, 2005, at the Dallas Museum of Art.

To be eligible, short productions must be made by Asian-Americans or Asian-International filmmakers, or with subject matter concerning Asian issues from any year, country, state, age, category, and serving any theme. The categories this year include narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation. All films submitted should be under 70 minutes in length.

All selected competitive entries will be screened at the museum during this weekend, with winners to be announced on the AFFD website, and showcased during the 4th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas in August 2005.

All entries should be on a screening tape, VHS (standard speed NTSC format only), or DVD (Region 1 only). Works in progress (no trailers) may be submitted; however, if the project is not completed and turned in by March 30, 2005, it cannot be screened for the festival.

Entries submitted by February 1, 2005 need to include a $15 processing fee for each item. Entries postmarked after that date will be accepted with a $20-per-film fee. Currently, the AFFD is accepting payment by check or money order (USD), to be mailed to the Asian Film Festival of Dallas at 3818 Cedar Springs Road, Suite 101-201, Dallas, Texas 75219.

A downloadable version of the Rules and Regulations for the 2005 AFFD Short Film Festival is available on the official AFFD website, www.affd.org . Filmmakers are encouraged to review the full guidelines before submitting their entries.

Any questions regarding submissions should be directed to mailbag@affd.org.
