Showtime Marks Black History Month With Encores of Its NAACP Nominated Films

NEW YORK -- In honor of Black History Month and its nominees for the 2003 NAACP Image Awards, Showtime Networks Inc. has scheduled a special airing of the nominated Showtime Original Pictures DEACONS FOR DEFENSE, GOOD FENCES and JASPER, TEXAS. An episode of the hit series SOUL FOOD(R), which was nominated once again for "Outstanding Drama Series," will also be highlighted as part of his special encore event, which begins Tuesday, February 10. SOUL FOOD won "Outstanding Drama Series" in 2002 and 2003.

Showtime received 16 NAACP Image Award nominations -- the most received by any television network this year. Established more than 30 years ago, the NAACP Image Awards honor programs and individuals of all races who have helped
promote "positive images of people of color." This year's ceremony will be held on Saturday, March 6th at the Universal Amphitheater and will air on Fox on Thursday, March 11th.
