Ray Romano and Kevin James to Star in Comedy Feature

LOS ANGELES, CA -- New Line Cinema has hired successful television director Jason Ensler to direct "Grilled," a comedy feature starring "Everybody Loves Raymond's" Ray Romano and "The King of Queens'" Kevin James. A June 21 production start date is planned.

While "Grilled" will be Ensler's first big-screen work, he has previously directed a pair of successful and critically acclaimed telefilms -- NBC's "Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of 'Three's Company'" and the top rated film of 2003, "Martha, Inc: The Story of Martha Stewart." Ensler has also directed episodes of the NBC series "Scrubs" and "Ed."

"It's always exciting when you get the chance to work with a new young talent like Jason," said New Line production president Toby Emmerich. "He has a bright future ahead of him and we are confident he will do a fantastic job on 'Grilled.'"

Based on a William Tepper script, "Grilled" revolves around two friends who work together as door-to-door salesmen to sell bulk quantities of frozen meat. But when the pair hits a sales slump, they are forced to sell a large quantity of beef in a single day or face the consequences.

"Grilled" is being produced by Jon Klane, Brad Jenkel, Rory Rosegarten, Jeff Sussman and Tepper while New Line's Emmerich, production vp Cale Boyter and creative executive Magnus Kim are overseeing the project.
