Event Returns to Los Angeles From December 7 - 10, As Part of Digital Video Expo West

San Francisco, CA -- CMP Media's Digital Video Group today announced the selection of digital films to be screened at its 5th Annual DV Film Festival in Los Angeles. Being held in the Beaudry Theater at the Los Angeles Center Studios, the DV Film Festival will run from Tuesday, December 7th through Thursday, December 9th, culminating with the Closing Night Gala at the Los Angeles Center Studio's Flix Cafe on Friday, December 10th.

Sponsored by Avid and Panasonic, the DV Film Festival's mission is to celebrate and support emerging independent filmmakers using digital video and high-definition to achieve their artistic visions and creative dreams. The Festival has built a reputation of showcasing digital films with intriguing subject matters, robust scripts, and foresights that push the digital envelope. Each night includes a distinct collection of short films followed by one feature film screening.

"The quality of work being produced in digital video by these gifted directors is truly remarkable," said Dave Kapoor, Festival Director, "and as we received more than double the number of submissions from last year's event, we were faced with a difficult selection process. Despite that, we've narrowed the field to three feature films and sixteen short subjects that we believe represent the best of the best."
