Monterey County Film Commission Seeks Film Buffs
By Greg Robinson, The Monterey County Film Commission

The Monterey County Film Commission is seeking volunteers as committee members and/or readers for its 13th annual Monterey Screenwriting Competition.

Each year the Monterey County Film Commission awards aspiring screenwriters a monetary grand prize and opportunity to have their scripts considered by film professionals. There is also a special award offered for the best screenplay with a Monterey County setting, or written by a Monterey County resident.

Committee participation includes contest coordination, fundraising assistance, and in-depth reading of feature-length screenplay submissions to the organization’s contest. Participating readers should enjoy evaluating and reading written material.

All volunteers should have an appreciation and knowledge of film and an interest in screenwriting. The Film Commission hosts an end-of-contest volunteer “Wrap Party” for all contest volunteers for their help.

This year’s committee will be co-chaired by Wendy A. Goldman and Benjamin Spencer.

To participate, contact the film commission office at 831-646-0910, or go to
