It is with great pleasure The Writers Place announces the winners of the July 2005 through June 2006 Short Story contest. Admittedly, there were many well written, interesting, and inspiring stories; however, the following three manuscripts excelled: First Place is Jacob M. Appel — "The Ataturk of the Outer Boroughs" Second Place is Billy Maddox — "Fear Is a Powerful Motivator" Honorable Mention goes to Donna Lisa — "Toucans of the Amazon" Both winners and honorable mention were notified via an official, separate correspondence.
