"Every Writer's dream is to have their screenplay produced; Our aim is to fulfil that dream."

The British Short Screenplay Competition (BSSC) is now accepting submissions for their fourth annual competition.

The BSSC is the only competitive and international short screenplay competition that undertakes to produce the winning screenplay and is able to boast an unrivalled line-up of judges that has included: Kenneth Branagh, Charles Dance; producers: Michael Kuhn, Piers Jackson, Nik Powell, Leslee Udwin, Natascha Wharton, Stephen Woolley and feature film director Simon Rumley to name but a few.

The winning screenplay will be produced. It will be directed by a recent graduate of the NFTS with a professional cast and crew.

"I have been involved with this competition from the beginning and I'm very proud of what it is trying to achieve and I'm hugely impressed with the quality of screenplays coming in." Nik Powell.

"Every writer's dream is to have their screenplay produced, to see their baby shot and up on the silver screen. Our aim at BSSC is to fullfil that dream" - says producer Arif Hussein.

Kaos Films has just completed production of the first winner THE HANDY MAN by Thomas Beach. The shooting took place very close to it's original setting in the USA. Shot on super 35mm it stars Greta Scacchi and Bill Sage and is directed by feature film director Simon Rumley. It is currently in post-production.

Now in its fourth year the BSSC has attracted entries from all parts of the world - from Alaska to Japan and Iceland to Australia. The competition is open to all, young, old, produced, unproduced, veterans and novices.

The British Short Screenplay Competition is now receiving entries for the 2005 competition. The early deadline for entries is Friday 15th April 2005 and the final closing deadline is Friday 27th May 2005. The winners will be announced by 29th July 2005.

The BSSC is sponsored by: Lee Lighting, Panavision, Pinewood Studios, Screenplay Systems and Soho Images.
