2004 Final Draft screenwriting contest to be judged by Hollywood's best

Los Angeles, CA -- Syd Field, the world's foremost scriptwriting guru, has been named as a judge in Final Draft, Inc.'s Big Break! Screenwriting Contest. The announcement was made today by Marc Madnick, CEO, President and Co-Founder of Final Draft, Inc.
(www.finaldraft.com). As part of the prize package, Field will also conduct an exclusive story conference with the 2004 winner.

"Not only has Syd agreed to sit on the judging panel, he has graciously offered to work with this year's winner to analyze their winning entry," said Madnick. He continued, "With Syd's keen eye for story and character, the winner of this year's contest is going to walk away with a beautifully developed script."

As Hollywood's preeminent authority on the art and craft of screenwriting, Syd Field has authored the internationally acclaimed best-selling books Screenplay, The Screenwriter's Workbook, and The Screenwriter's Problem Solver. Field is currently at work updating, screenplay, "the Bible" of the film industry. Publication of the new version is scheduled for early in 2005. In joining the 2004 Big Break! Screenwriting Contest as a judge, Field commented, "I am very excited about serving on the judges panel and working with the people at Final Draft in their efforts to encourage and support the next generation of screenwriters." The submission deadline for the 2004 Big Break! Scriptwriting Contest is June 30, 2004. About the Big Break! Scriptwriting Contest: The Grand Prize winner will receive $10,000, an exclusive story conference with Syd Field (valued at $2,500) and an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles to network and pitch their ideas with industry professionals. The second-prize winner will receive $3,000 and the third-prize winner receives $1,000. The 2004 contest is supported by The Writer's Guild of America, west.
