LOS ANGELES – January 15, 2004 – The nation's aspiring talent will turn dreams into reality at The Great American PitchFest, where they’ll have the opportunity to rub shoulders with the movers and shakers of the American film and television industries. Sponsored by The American Screenwriters Association and produced by Twilight Pictures, Inc., PitchFest will be held on January 31 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This incredible event offers an unprecedented opportunity for individuals to sell their ideas for movies, TV shows, sitcoms, documentaries and all other genres and formats, plus learn insider secrets on pitching a script and landing a contract or agent in the entertainment industry.

"The hardest part of selling your idea to Hollywood is getting in the door to the right people and having a few minutes of their undivided attention to present your idea," said Signe Olynyk, producer of The Great American PitchFest. "With nearly 100 decision-makers from Hollywood's most prominent and credible companies eager to hear pitches from producers, writers and directors, more than a thousand meetings will happen in just a few short hours. And this is what can lead to that big break," she added.

Representative companies include DreamWorks (Stephen Spielberg's company), Happy Madison Productions (Adam Sandler's company), Out of the Blue Entertainment ("Mr. Deeds", "Big Daddy", "Master of Disguise"), Regent Entertainment ("Gods & Monsters"), Lightstorm (James Cameron's company: "Titanic", "True Lies", "Terminator"), Robert Kosberg Productions ("12 Monkeys", "Surrender Dorothy"), and the Donners' Company ("Lethal Weapon" 1-4, "You've Got Mail"), plus countless others. A complete list of participating companies is available at www.pitchfest.com.

To hone skills and maximize the art of the pitch, top Hollywood professionals will reveal insider secrets on getting your ideas to the most influential power people. Learn from Michael Hauge (Author of Writing Screenplays That Sell), Karl Iglesias (Author of The 101 Habits of Highly Successful Screenwriters), Robert Kosberg (Screenwriter, Executive Producer: "The Match", National Lampoon's "Dad's Week Off", "12 Monkeys"), Pilar Alessandra (Script consultant and training expert), and Kathie Fong Yoneda (Author of The Script Selling Game - A Hollywood Insider's Look at Getting Your Script Sold and Produced), just to name a few. As an added bonus, decision-makers and speakers can mix, mingle and continue to network at the "Sweet Taste of Success" champagne and dessert buffet gala in the evening.

With a ratio of one decision-maker for every six attendees, PitchFest offers the best chance to meet and pitch the industry's most influential and prominent power brokers. Registration is $200 and includes full access to PitchFest and all training sessions, with an option to purchase a ticket to the "Sweet Taste of Success" champagne and networking gala.
