The winners, finalists and semifinalists grant permission to FilmMakers.com to: use their names and/or likenesses for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation; post on its web site your script's logline, synopsis and screenplay excerpts.

In the event of any sale or option of your screenplay or teleplay that is due to the ongoing promotional efforts by FilmMakers.com, FilmMakers Magazine, and/or Media Pro Tech Inc., 7% (seven percent) of that amount will be paid by the purchaser, or you the writer, to FilmMakers.com (contract value, sale or option under $3000 will be exempt).

This contest is open to anyone (world wide) except all employees, directors, associates, the immediate families of FilmMakers.com, The Radmin Company, Write Brothers, all the affiliates and/or sponsors.
Submissions must be full-length film or television movie scripts in any genre.
Multiple entries are permissible.
Adaptations from other works are permissible provided you have the writer's written permission to adapt the work. 
Once a script has been entered, no substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be considered. You may submit a revised draft of your script, as a new submission and pay the appropriate entry fee. 
Adaptations of works in the public domain are permissible. 
Writers under the age of 18 years old must have a parent or guardian fill the entry form read and accept all the terms and conditions of the competition.
Contest applicants must accept without reservation the decisions rendered by the jurors.
Collaborative work is eligible. The writers are responsible for the distribution of the contest prize (s).
The screenplay must not have been previously optioned, sold, or produced. 
Writer understands and accepts without reservation that he/she/ is an independent contractor and Filmmakers.com is not responsible for withholding any taxes or payments to any government agency, at any level, be it state, local or federal. 
Writer understands that it is his/her sole responsibility to register Material with the U.S. Copyright Office and/or with the Writer’s Guild of America.
Applicant must not have received consideration in excess of $6,000 as a prize in a previous competition. 
Writer has retained at least one copy of the submitted material, and understands that all material we receive cannot and will not be returned under any circumstances.
Script must be in industry standard format, in English, bound with two or three brads, with card stock covers, (if shipping separately via snail mail) and must be between 80-130 pages and no longer than 160 pages. Please add an additional $12 for screenplays over 130 pages. Font must be 12-point Courier, Courier New or Courier Final Draft.
All scripts must be postmarked by the Final Deadline.
FilmMakers International Screenwriting Awards is not responsible for late or lost submissions.
Writer is responsible for updating all his/her contact information.
By entering this contest and in the event writer is declared a finalist (top 10) semifinalist (top 20), he/she/they understand and accept that filmmakers.com will be free to use their name and likeness for advertising or promotional purposes without additional consideration.
If writer is a finalist or semifinalist he/she/they agree to give FilmMakers.com the permission to post on its web site, the script's logline, synopsis and excerpts. 
Writer may submit his/her/their screenplay to any other person, contest, producer, agent, and/or organization.
Entering this contest will not limit writer's copyright in any way. Writer retains all rights (100%) to his/her/their property.
I understand that many stories and ideas are similar in some ways, and although many stories or ideas are different, they may share a common theme.
In the event of any sale or option of your screenplay or teleplay that is due to the ongoing promotional efforts by FilmMakers.com, FilmMakers Magazine, and/or Media Pro Tech Inc., 7% (seven percent) of that amount will be paid by the purchaser, or you the writer, to FilmMakers.com .
If a script is sold/optioned or the writer gets work, a development deal, or representation, etc., the writer must inform filmmakers.com via email.
Writer is solely responsible for any misuse of his/their account, even if the offending act or conduct was committed by, results from or arises from the act, omission or behavior of someone other than said writer(s). Therefore writer must take the necessary precautions to protect access to and use of his/their account, including your user name and password. 
It is writer's responsibility to provide and check and keep his/their contact information up to date, including a required valid e-mail address, current mailing address, phone number, etc, that writer provided to Filmmakers.com during the sign-up process. Filmmakers.com has no responsibility for communications that are misdirected as a result of writer(s) failure to provide Filmmakers.com with updated contact information.
