Drama

Synopsis
JAKE is bullied by his classmates. RUPERT and SPENCER are the worst. They throw paper balls at him and push him around. Jake puts on a brave face and refuses to let them see how humiliated he is.

The bullying gets worse. While Jake showers after gym class, Rupert and Spencer remove his clothes and his towel from the dressing room. When Jake turns off the water he frantically searches for his clothes but they are nowhere to be found. Jake runs across the school yard whilst covering himself as best as he can, the humiliation painted all over his face. He bumps into Rupert’s girlfriend, SARAH, who helps him look for his clothes and eventually finds them in a messy pile in the boys’ toilets.

Jake gets dressed and leaves school with Sarah. However, Rupert sees them together and gets insanely jealous. He confronts them in the parking lot and ends up hitting Sarah and starting a fight with Jake.

Sarah and Jake begin to see each other in their spare time and become friends. They meet and have ice cream. And their outing culminates in a kiss. To Jake and Sarah’s surprise, Spencer one day invites them to a party at his brother’s dormitory. Rupert and Spencer are sorry about the way they have behaved towards Jake and hope that the party can be a chance for them to start over.

Jake and Sarah attend Spencer’s party where Jake smokes hash for the first time. He and Sarah both get high and at one point, Sarah excuses herself to go to the bathroom. When Sarah comes out of the girls’ bathroom, she comes face to face with Rupert and Spencer. They grab her and pull her into Spencer’s brother’s room. Sarah starts screaming and kicking. Jake begins to wonder why Sarah hasn’t made it back from the bathroom. When he goes looking for her, he hears her scream from Spencer’s brother’s room from across the hallway. Rupert and Spencer rapes Sarah while Jake stands helplessly outside, hammering on the door and yelling in an attempt to get in and help Sarah.

When Rupert and Spencer finally let Sarah go, she collapses in Jake’s arms. She is fetched by an ambulance. Jake stands outside the dormitory and watches as the ambulance takes her away. He goes back inside to fetch his jacket but is cornered by Rupert and Spencer who beat the living daylights out of him, breaking his nose and fracturing several of his ribs.

Jake awakes in hospital. His father is out of his wits. Things get even worse when Jake begins to ask about Sarah. His father has to tell Jake that Sarah isn’t coming. She is too scared. Jake is disappointed and hurt – but most of all angry at Rupert and Spencer. While his father speaks to the DOCTOR, Jake gets dressed and leaves the hospital. His father hurries home as soon as he discovers that Jake is missing and discovers that his gun in is missing.

Jake goes to school. He interrupts his class, produces his father’s 9 mm from his jacket pocket and starts firing at his classmates. Sarah manages to escape. Rupert and Spencer are less lucky. After the massacre, Jake leaves the school building. The POLICE have arrived. Their firearms trained at him. Jake looks the police officers straight in the eye as he puts the gun in his mouth.
