| Award:
Writers whose scripts are selected are guaranteed room,
board and round-trip transportation. Those chosen agree to be in
residence for the entire conference the month of July so that work
and consultation on each project is not limited to the rehearsal
and public presentation schedule. |

The O’Neill is proud to announce a call for submissions for the
Inaugural Conference for Film and Television Writing under the
guidance of Artistic Director Oz Scott. The Conference is modeled
after the National Playwrights Conference. The O’Neill seeks to
engage independent voices who are dedicated to developing their
work in one of the world’s foremost theatrical laboratories. |

| Eligibility:
Each writer may submit one screenplay
or Teleplay of any length. Works that have been produced, selected
for professional workshop projects or are currently under option are
not eligible. Translations are also excluded. Adaptations (or any
other use of material protected by copyright) must include proof of
rights to use source material. |

| Rules:
Participation is limited to four writers
for the 2005 Conference scheduled to take place in July of 2005 at
the Center.
Submission
guidelines are as follows:
Send two (2) complete copies of a
complete screenplay or teleplay bound (with either binder clips or
brads)
- Send a total of four (4) collated,
bound (with either binder clips or brads) hard copies of the first
ten pages on three-hole punched paper. One (1) copy should have
the author’s contact information on the title page. The other
three (3) copies should be anonymous without any marking that
might identify the author of the play. All scripts must be
paginated. In an effort to save trees and shipping costs, we
encourage all applicants to submit double-sided copies of scripts.
On separate pages also send (Put
your address, phone, and e-mail on each of the following pages):
- A biographical statement with
emphasis on your history as an artist.
- A synopsis of your Screenplay or
Teleplay.
- A character break-down with
descriptions and ages.
- A statement of particular
objectives you have for working on your Screenplay/Teleplay at the
conference. Additionally...
- Send one (1) digital copy of
script and all other required materials on CD-R or 3.5 inch floppy
in any format. And...
- A check for $35.00 payable to the
O’Neill Conference for Film and Television Writing, toward the
costs associated with the selection process.
Only submissions complete per these
guidelines and postmarked within the open/close dates of March 1,
2005 and March 15, 2005 will be considered. NO incomplete
submissions will be accepted. No drop-off script deliveries will be
accepted |
