The Cynosure Screenwriting Awards seeks to expand the scope of mainstream cinema by recognizing quality character and concept driven screenplays showcasing female and minority protagonists.
Notification Date:  September 12, 2007.

Eligibility: Open to all writers in any country.
Rules:
  • Screenplays must be in English only, and may be of any genre.
  • Screenplays must not have been previously optioned, purchased or produced.
  • Scripts must be registered with the WGA or with the US Copyright Office. Scripts must be the original work of the applicant(s). If based u pon adapted material not in the public domain, applicant(s) must attach a statement attesting to their rights to make the adaptation.
  • Entries must be accompanied by a signed entry/release form, application fee and two title pages. The first title page with the title only must be attached to the script. The second title page with the title, author's name and contact information should be unattached to the script.
  • The author's name must not appear anywhere inside the script itself.
