The central
character of SIDEPASS is a tough, Southern Utah rancher and rodeo star who
more easily wrestles a steer than with her own deeply buried emotions. In
the opening scene, we discover that Gayle Kerr is on the verge of losing
her beloved family ranch. The set up for the catalyst heroine occurs after
Gayle reluctantly agrees to let a southern Travel Magazine writer, Leisl
Shay, visit to cover an article about the ranch’s B&B. Tension between the
women increases to a consequential level the day Leisl invites Gayle’s
estranged Native American half brother to the ranch. Only Hunka, an
intuitive horse, can guide this unusual trio on their journey of
self-discovery.
